ASSOCIATE IN GENERAL STUDIES DEGREE

The Associate in General Studies Degree is designed for the student whose objective cannot be achieved through an occupational or baccalaureate-oriented degree. The plan of study for this degree allows the student to explore individual abilities and interests while maintaining an academic structure. The degree will not transfer to a senior institution, although specific courses which are designed as university transfer courses may be transferable.

ADULT AND BASIC SKILLS

The open door philosophy of the community college system enables the student to enter his/her own present level of educational achievement. The college is fully staffed to assist the student in completing a GED certificate, improvement of basic education skills, development of study skills, tutorial help, etc. Programs for special needs are listed below:

STUDENT SERVICES

Student Services offers resources which enable students to meet the challenges of college living. Professionally trained staff provide counseling for the following types of issues: Career Awareness, Academic Planning, Personal Concerns, Financial Assistance, Verterans Affairs, and Job Placement. Free tutoring services are available to all students through the Learning Skills Center.
